Although you don't have to be an experienced horseman, you will will be "roughing it" to some extent.
Accommodation: is basic, where camping grounds, shearing sheds, camping on the beachs and sometimes marae stay, are standard.
Food: is Kiwiana and plentiful and whether you are a vegetarian or enjoy your barbecued steaks, your puku (stomach) will be looked after...A tasty Maori hangi is often available on the longer horsetreks...
